Our community is senile so lacks not only the ability to recognise what it should be aspiring to do, but the resolve needed to achieve any sensible aim.

It cannot overcome real problems such as:

But instead languishes in impotence and delusion, as confirmed by the community's actions in law enforcement. First a new crime is invented, drug dealing, then vast amounts of money, time, equipment and personnel are spent suppressing the new crime, even though this effort can never achieve any sensible result.
