Note from The Dialogue Of Apollodorus by Plato

It is almost certain that the reference here is to the punishment inflicted by the Spartans on Mantinea, an Arcadian city, in 385 B.C. The city was broken up and the inhabitants forced to live in four dispersed villages. Mention of this event in a conversation purporting to have taken place in 416 B.C. is of course an anachronism, but it provides valuable evidence for the date of composition.
