Mr Hudson has published a long and short work on Lewis Carroll in 1954; and his most recent book is Sir Joshua Reynolds: a Personal Study. He has also written on W. M. Praed, on Thomas Barnes of The Times, and on that Victorian curiosity, Martin Tupper.
