Note: An unpublished dissertation entitled Lawrence Darrell: Time in 'The Alexandria Quartet', by Chan Soo Ping was submitted in 1969 to the Department of English in The University of Malaya for the degree of MA. This contains both the clearest elucidation of Durrell's space-time theories and the closest and most elegant structural analysis of The Alexandria Quartet yet written.
