Note 78
To My Followers from Folly Speaks

Caesar's fear of Brutus and Cassius who were pale and thin is reported by Plutarch (Life of Caesar, 62), as is his failure to fear the sleek Antony. Shakespeare draws on the same passage of Plutarch in Julius Caesar, I, ii, 194-5,

Yon Cassius has a lean and hungry look,
He thinks too much: such men are dangerous.
