Crocodile's Syllogism
To My Achievements And Attributes from Folly Speaks

The Crocodile's Syllogism is mentioned by Quintilian and is a trick. The example normally given is that of a crocodile promising to return to its mother a child he has snatched, providing she can correctly forecast what he will do. If she says he will return it, she is wrong. If she says he will not, she is right, but only if he in fact does not.
