Arcturus
To My Achievements And Attributes from Folly Speaks

The reference to Arcturus has sometimes been taken as an elliptical reference to the claim of the Tudor kings to descend from King Arthur. It most probably alludes to Cicero's de natura deorum (2, 42, 110). Arcturus, killed by drunken shepherds, was put in the heavens by Jupiter and became the constellation Bootes, while his daughter Erigone, who had killed herself at the news of her father's death, became Virgo. Their dog, who led Erigone to her dead father, became Canicula.
