Mother Takes Her Child To Work
'Passengers dob in CityCat pilot carrying her baby' The Courier-Mail, 23/12/2008

A CITYCAT pilot who came to work with her baby strapped on her back has sparked a safety investigation.

Passengers raised their concerns after noticing the woman operating the new-model CityCat yesterday with the infant in a backpack.

A Brisbane City Council spokesman said the company that operated and maintained the fast-moving ferries, TransdevTSL, had been advised of the incident.

"TransdevTSL advise that safety is paramount and they assure council that the appropriate action will be taken to ensure this will not happen again," a statement issued by the council said.

Queensland Working Women's Service acting director Deidre Morrow said it could be very challenging for working mothers when childcare arrangements fell through at the last minute.
