Rule 10 — Role Of Clothes For Each Sex
G.R. Taylor's Rules of Matrism/Patrism Explained

Patrists are restrained by traditional roles
Tradition has given men and women different roles, which include different and distinct dress for each gender, but only the dutiful adhere to these directions.

Matrist resent any such restraint
The self-indulgent are restrained only by convenience, so they dress as they feel.

The nature (Matrist or Patrist) of the community is revealed by their attire
If the community is dominated by the dutiful the attire of the two genders is marked by different clothes, but if the community is dominated by the self-indulgent then dress is not indicative of gender but convenience.
