Bentley
Note by A Milnes to Pope's Works a chapter of The Life Of Pope

Richard Bentley (1662-1742), a great classical scholar, who distinguished himself by his critical learning and by his conduct as Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, in which capacity he was involved in constant broils with the University. The story in the text is one of many good tales of his ready and sarcastic wit.
